SOCIAL PROJECT IN ROME
Our Lady of Fatima “Opera” in Villa Troili (Rome)
The Antognozzi Foundation is funding a series of educational, formative and cultural initiatives at the “Opera N.S. di Fatima” in Villa Troili (Rome). The goal is to provide a social utility service for families in the area.
The project targets those who live in the vicinity of the "Opera" and are interested or need to use this service. The goal is to meet the needs of the less wealthy, and those in financial difficulties. Rooms of the Opera building will be allocated and prepared for after-school activities, where teachers will be available for assisting students. Areas for play will also be present. This is done to help parents that could not otherwise afford other after-school programs in the area. Further activities of social utility encompassed bythe project include:
- cooking workshops for grownups and children;
- sewing workshops;
- computer courses;
- theater workshops;
- painting workshops;
- language courses, especially for English. These will be organized for adults and for children, with the collaboration of au pair teachers. Language courses are important in an increasingly multiethnic society, and this offer will benefit families that could not otherwise afford expensive private classes.
